As the impossibly humid rainy season kicks into gear (ensuring bad hair days for all) things are still relatively quiet on the local sake scene. However, it has been heartening to see more and more brewers meeting the challenge of our current circumstances and adapting as necessary. The sake industry is not always known for its ability to adapt to the modern age, but seeing how many "old-school" breweries have been communicating with their fans through SNS and Zoom gatherings, this new found deeper connection between producer and consumer might end up becoming the silver lining to all the negative impact COVID-19 has had on the industry.
