Welcome to Issue #37 of SIN.
The cherry blossoms are out in force, and everywhere you look local folks are taking happy snaps of Japan's favorite flower. The weather is warming up and some breweries are already hanging up tools and "tipping their tanks" as they bid farewell to what has been a challenging and unusual brewing season to say the least. Time will tell how the rest of the year pans out, but for now, let's do what we do best and keep drinking that sake.
UPDATE: In our previous issue we reported on a new brewery set to open in Shizuoka Prefecture under the management of Tsuboguchi Food Service. At the time of print we were unable to confirm how the company managed to procure a brewing license. It has since come to light that the license was purchased from Ishikawa Shuzō, a dormant brewery in Shizuoka Prefecture.
