Welcome to Issue #46 of Sake Industry News.

The summer rains are falling hard as we put together the news for this issue. Here's hoping there's no ill effects from the heavy rain this time.

State of emergency measures are still in effect in Tokyo, Osaka and other major regions (while the chief of IOC goes sightseeing around the country - don't get me started), so much like last year with little going on in the way of events and general social interaction in sake bars and restaurants, it's difficult to feel the change in the seasonal offerings. However, the first hiyaoroshi of the season are already being spotted and next, before you know it, we'll be gearing up for another season of brewing. Hopefully with a widely vaccinated population and a glimmer of hope that we can be in our favorite bars and restaurants again soon.
