Welcome to Issue #49 of Sake Industry News and Happy World Sake Day!
Out of the 365 days of the year, this one is for us! For those in Japan the timing couldn't be better. The state of emergency restrictions that have kept sake bars and restaurants in Japan's major regions closed for the past two months are set to be lifted today. This will allow folks to finally get back into their favorite watering holes and enjoy a well-earned kampai with their fellow nihonshu devotees.
We'll wait with bated breath to see if any of those restrictions that have kept us away from each other and our beloved haunts get reinstated, but for today let's forget the bad and enjoy the good. Sake, seishu, nihonshu, nectar of the Gods, whatever you want to call it, is why we're all here and this is the day we officially celebrate the fine work of those that continue to tirelessly brew this fine beverage.
